For this project, I decided to create my own artistic piece in Photoshop. First, I took a mountainous landscape and gave it a starry, night sky background. Then, I darkened the landscape to match the lack of light in the scenery. I added a bright moon to the sky to create some contrast with the light of the moon and the darkness of the landscape. I wanted to make the moon the center of attention in this piece, so I added a mountain ledge and placed a telescope on it, pointing towards the moon. When people look at my piece, their eyes are drawn to the bright moon. This project served as a refresher of the Photoshop skills I already had, like using the lasso tool to section off images, as well as a teaching of tools I didn't know, such as gradients to add color to images. I'm happy with the result of my first Photoshop creation in a while, and I hope it serves as a gateway to future projects.
