This project was based around the Mexican holiday, dia de los muertos, or Day of the Dead. I made an art piece illustrating my interpretation of how I would be as a skeleton, and described it in a written piece.
My Picture and written portion
Yo soy esqueleto curioso.
Reflection
The best thing I learned about Dia de los Muertos is that the Spaniards actually borrowed the idea of celebrating death from the Aztecs.
My skeleton reflected me, because I like to take things apart and put them back together differently. In the picture, my arms and legs are displaced, representing how I would take myself apart.
I'm very proud of my art piece for the project, because I'm not very artistic, and I feel I conquered a big challenge for me.
Translating some of the phrases were very difficult for me, because I don't have a very broad arsenal of Spanish vocabulary.
Next time, I would have done the challenge extension and taken the time to really memorize everything to go above the standards set.
